Given the increasing scarcity of freshwater resources, researchers are devoting efforts into developing seawater desalination devices with improved performance and lower energy consumption. This study primarily focuses on the synthesis of a novel anti-scaling filter membrane, aiming to create a new type of membrane for application in the membrane water treatment industry. The objective of this membrane creation is to manage surface scaling, extend its lifespan, reduce maintenance expenses, and optimize economic benefits. The experiment investigates and compares the impacts of integrating various components of scale inhibitors on membrane performance. In the initial phase of the experiment, the surface characteristics of the membrane were investigated through multiple sets of water flux tests. Subsequently, a double-layered structure membrane, comprising a 200-micron thick polysulfone resin layer coated on qualitative filter paper, was selected as the base membrane for incorporating scale inhibitors. In the second phase of the experiment, which focused on determining the membrane's anti-scaling properties, both the calcium-inhibitor group and the stand-alone inhibitor group exhibited desirable anti-scaling characteristics as expected. The development of this novel anti-scaling membrane holds considerable potential for further exploration and bears long-term significance for the water quality optimization industry.en_US
