Abstract: | Technology has revolutionized education by introducing new teaching methods that engage students in active learning. With the integration of technology in education, classroom activities can be conducted more often and efficiently, and Peer Instruction has become more popular as students are given the opportunity to discuss and share ideas while getting feedback from teachers. This has been made possible by the reduced preparation time that technology has brought about. This project, the Mobile Assisted Classroom Activity System (MACAS), aims to create a cross-platform web-based application that allows real-time bidirectional communication between teachers and students to facilitate teaching at the University of Macau (UM). Using MACAS, teachers will be able to conduct and reuse activities they have created and review the records of students’ responses, with the unique feature of repeating a particular question during the quiz. Whereas students will be able to join activities conducted by the teacher, interact with peers during the activity, and make responses accordingly. |
